  • All poems that follow the competition rules will be printed in the national book.
  • A maximum of two poems per person allowed.

The packages offered are unique, cost effective and include exposure in printed and electronic versions of the book that will be seen locally and internationally

Professional Poets & Song Writers Welcome


Professional poets are welcome to showcase their talents in the national Barbados Book of Poems & Puzzles. Professional poets must have at least five of their poems published or have published at least one book. Many song writers and calypsonians are also poets and these artists are also welcome.

Professionals will not be entered into the competition but will have a perfect, free platform to advertise their work.

Anthony "Gabby" Carter


Gabby is a master Calypsonian, he is also an accomplished Poet & a true Barbadian legend.


Gabby has written over 2,000 poems (one a day  from August 2017 to April 2022) and is still writing poems today. Some of those poems will be showcased in The Barbados Book of Poems & Puzzles
